Fixed Wing Drones Now Available on DOT-Chain Defence For Ukrainian Military
It has been announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence that Fixed wing drones are now available for purchase by Ukrainian military units on the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace. This marks a move into systems which
Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Defence for Ukraine spoke of the news in a Ukrainian MOD press release,
“Most of the models are reconnaissance drones. They are designed for long-duration flights and capable of performing a broad spectrum of missions. The range comprises 12 models produced by 8 Ukrainian companies.”
The Defense Minister also added that there are plans to expand the range of products available on DOT Chain further,
“In the near future, plans include scaling up the system and expanding the range of available products: other types of drones, including ground robotic systems, electronic warfare (EW) and signals/electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) capabilities, as well as drone-deployed munitions.”
The last item, ‘drone-deployed munitions’ would mark a notable departure from the organisations remit as ‘State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition’ which was reaffirmed in May 2025.
The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has contracted with the eight Ukrainian companies who manufacture the fixed wing drones in order to make them available both from existing stocks and through pre-order purchase.
DOT-Chain Defence is a military procurement marketplace designed for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Which allows the Ukrainian military to buy equipment they require directly and promptly. This is one of several such platforms which also includes the Brave1 Marketplace. Through DOT-Chain Defence, the Ukrainian armed forces personnel can already purchase FPV and bomber drones as well as various other bits of non-lethal kit and equipment. The online marketplace has already delivered 5,600 drones worth 216 million UAH, and was launched in July 2025. As drone warfare continues to be a key asset within the battlespace in Ukraine. As both sides utilise many types of drone as the war looks to be entering its 4th year.
This follows the news that 7 million UAH would be made available to Ukrainian brigades, for use on the Brave1 online marketplace earlier this year.
