DSEI 2025: Patria Group’s TRACKX Unveiled

Finnish defence company Patria Group revealed their new TRACKX all terrain tracked vehicle at DSEI 2025. The new APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) was launched on September 9, at the Patria Group stand. Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Protected Mobility at Patria spoke on the new tracked vehicle at DSEI:

“Patria is very proud to have launched this new exceptional all-terrain tracked vehicle, Patria TRACKX, on the market. This vehicle aligns perfectly with the high-level requirements established by the FAMOUS programme member nations, and it offers an optimal solution for various applications that demand high mobility standards for military units.”

A press release provides further details on the new vehicle:

“Patria has developed a tracked vehicle that stands out in its class when operating in demanding environments and terrain types, offering excellent tactical and operational mobility. Patria TRACKX is designed to transport 12 soldiers with equipment and to perform on roads, in dense forests, steep hills, wet bogs, and deep snow without compromising its protection. Patria TRACKX is capable of smooth cooperation with other tracked vehicles and will serve as a platform for various role variants in the future.”

The Patria TRACKX has been developed as a modern and cost effective alternative to other currently operating light tracked vehicles, in the 13 to 18 ton wight class. With cost, ease of use and time to train crews being at the core of its design. TRACKX can operate in the harshest of climates and environments, TRACKX only utilises a crew of two. A commander and driver but offers greater room for them than other more conventional four track vehicles, with room for 10 dismounts. Along with blast-attenuating seats for additional protection.

The APC can be armed with a 12.7mm machine gun (the model displayed at DSEI was also equipped with a GPMG), and can reach a top speed of 80kph with an operational range of up to 500km. Its armor offers STANAG level 1 protection which can withstand small caliber ammunition and also offers mine and artillery splinter protection.

Patria Group hope the TRACKX can be adopted as a replacement for the M113 APC and other MTLB tracked vehicles.
