DSEI 2025: Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin Reveal New Fuchs JAGM

At DSEI 2025 German and American defence manufacturers Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin showcased their new Fuchs JAGM (Joint-Air to Ground-Missile) vehicle. Fuchs JAGM integrates Lockheed Martin’s vertical launch missile system onto a Rheinmetall 6X6 Fuchs evolution armoured transport vehicle for the first time. The concept outlines an extremely capable overwatch vehicle capable of engaging air and ground targets.

The vehicle was first unveiled to DSEI attendees on September 9, a Rheinmetall press release published the same week describes the Fuchs JAGM’s characteristics further:

‘The Fuchs JAGM is the world’s first vehicle equipped with 24 vertically launched AGM-179 Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) or AGM-114L HELLFIRE Longbow guided missiles from Lockheed Martin. In combination with its state-of-the-art sensor package, it can detect and engage multiple threats on the battlefield at any time. The Fuchs JAGM is thus capable of engaging up to 24 battle tanks, as well as air targets in rapid succession without reloading.’

The release also further detailed the Lockheed Martin JAGM system utilised on the Fuchs 6×6:

‘JAGM is a multi-sensor missile that can also be fired in ground-to-ground and ground-to-air applications. The missile has a range of up to 16 kilometres and features a tandem shaped charge fragmentation warhead. The JAGM’s multimode seeker, which has been proven in numerous flight tests, features an improved semi-active laser sensor (SAL) for precision strikes and a fire-and-forget millimetre wave radar (MMW) for moving targets in all weather conditions. The JAGM thus offers improved performance against stationary and moving armoured targets, air defence systems, patrol boats, air targets, artillery guns and launchers, radar installations and C2 nodes, as well as bunkers and other structures in urban and complex terrain.’

Paula Hartley, Vice President & General Manager Tactical Missiles at Lockheed Martin. Attended the Fuchs JAGM unveiling at DSEI and remarked on the vehicle and the partnership between both companies:

‘The integration of our JAGM and HELLFIRE missiles into the Fuchs creates a groundbreaking mobile vertical launch system that combines the best of Lockheed Martin’s battle-proven capabilities and Rheinmetall’s expertise.’

Over 60 variants of the Fuchs 6×6 are in service in over 9 countries across the globe including Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom. OVD spoke to a Rheinmetall representative who said that they hoped the new Fuchs JAGM would be adopted by nations who are already utilising pre-existing Fuchs variants. The new vehicle was displayed the exhibition alongside the new Rheinmetall tracked Lynx Skyranger 35 Anti-Air defence system.
