DSEI 2025: KNDS Debut the Armoured Command Liaison Vehicle
German defence manufacturer KNDS showcased their new 4×4 ACLV (Armoured Command Liaison Vehicle) at DSEI 2025. The new vehicle is a multi-role 4×4 that combines high levels of mobility with high levels of protection. To highlight this at the exhibition KNDS christened the new ACLV with the tag line: ‘Protection – Mobility – Payload’. KNDS explained the ACLV specifications and design ethos:
“The ACLV concept is easy to describe yet effective: the vehicle features a robust high performance chassis with a single wheel suspension, long spring excursion and a high ground clearance for excellent mobility in all types of terrain.”

We spoke with a KNDS representative who told us the ACLV has room for 4 dismounts and boasted a safer monarch cabin than other comparable 4x4s in its field. Along with being able to withstand ballistic, mine and IED threats with its self-supporting armoured hull. We were also allowed access inside the vehicle which was neatly laid out for its crew. The ACLV can also be equipped with a remote controlled weapon station for a machine gun of various calibers or a 40mm grenade launcher. The model showed at DSEI had an M2 .50 caliber heavy machine gun mounted.

ACLV has a cruising range of up to 700 kilometres (435 miles) and is powered by a turbo diesel engine, with a maximum speed of 110 km/h. Display screens at the KNDS display detailed the ACLV’s characteristics further:
“The ACLV sets a new standard in safety and security thus belongs to an innovative, powerful and future-orientated generation of armoured vehicles…the self supporting safety cell, made from armoured steel and adaptive composite armour, maximises the safety of all crew members. The vehicle is easy to operate in heavy terrain and various climate zones.”
The ALCV was not the only new 4×4 unveiled at DSEI 2025. As various manufacturers showcased their offerings for the various tiers of the UK’s light mobility vehicle programme, such as the General Motors GSUP and the Babcock GLV.
