DSEI 2025: Nokia Unveil New Mission-Safe Phones
Finnish telecommunications company Nokia have revealed their new Mission-Safe smartphones at DSEI 2025. Which has been purpose built for security and defence forces. The high performance smartphone boasts 4G and 5G technology enabling the digitalisation of the battlefield.

The new phone comes in two models, the Mission-Safe Pro and the Mission-Safe Ultra. Nokia describes the phones features further in a recent press release:
‘Designed from the ground up for security and resilience, this tactical smartphone delivers encrypted broadband communications in contested environments. It supports data and multimedia-heavy military applications, all at the cost of a commercial smartphone. With it, forces gain enhanced situational awareness and the tools they need to succeed in their mission.’
The press release also details the operating system and its internal parts which are described as ‘mission ready performance‘.
‘Engineered to withstand the toughest conditions MIL-STD-810H and IP68 resilience, a guaranteed long-life chipset, and best-in-class screen durability. Features HD cameras, a large Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® display, wide 4G/5G band support and validation with the Nokia Banshee portfolio for top-tier performance in any environment.’
The new smartphone has also been designed with security in mind for use with defence and security forces, utilising a hardened Android operating system, tamper-proof protection, encrypted storage and protected communications. Nokia also guarantees no bloatware will be on the device and the phones will receive regular updates to keep operational security to a maximum for its users.

OVD handled the phone at Nokia’s stand in the Tech Zone of DSEI, the phone is as light as other comparable phones in its field and the operating system is responsive and easy to use. A Nokia representative spoke to OVD and suggested that NATO member nations such as Germany are potential future adopters of the new devices, adding that a duel sim system could be utilised to allow users to also use the phone for personal use when not on military or security deployment.
A new tough case was also shown at the exhibition that featured a supplemental magnetic battery pack to be attached to allow for longer battery life.
